Standard Services Provided
- ON-SITE milling your logs to the desired lumber dimensions.
- Stacking of lumber behind the sawmill as each board is produced.
- Sticker boards are produced as part of the milling process and are used to separate each layer of lumber.
- We prefer to keep the Sawmill running. We invite and enjoy customer assistance in stacking lumber behind the mill.
- Stacking of tailings and edge wood remaining after each log is milled.
- If requested, a full inventoried accounting of the number of logs cut, and the amount of lumber each produced. (To be mailed to customer after completion of the job.)
- We maximize the amount of lumber each log will produce. In nearly every instance we exceed log scale volumes in the Scribner Log Volume Tables.
Charges are based on actual lumber cut rather than scaled volume. Our goal is to produce up to 1500 board feet per day. A board foot of lumber is defined as 12”x12”x1”.
Other Services Available
These services are available at additional cost.
- Log decking and site preparation dirt work (if required.)
- Handling and stacking of lumber other than off-bearing from the sawmill.
- All chainsaw work including but not limited to bucking, trimming and notching.
- Any milling that requires special handling including but not limited to quartering, logs under 8” long, over 20’ long, and all reclaimed lumber.
- Milling at my location may be done, but all trucking costs are the responsibility of the customer.
